Power and performance
A 2.0L DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine with 140 horsepower and 147 lb-ft of torque powers the 2009 Nissan Sentra with continuously variable automatic transmission delivering 26/34 mpg city/highway, an improvement on the previous version’s 25/33 mpg.
Trims and options
The Nissan Sentra FE+ 2.0 comes with air conditioning with in-cabin microfilter, power windows and door locks, AM/FM/CD audio system with auxiliary audio input jack, 60/40-split fold-flat rear seats, and six standard air bags.
The FE 2.0S adds more convenience and a 6-speed manual transmission to the 2.0 features: Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), 16-inch steel wheels with wheel covers, fog lights, remote keyless entry, Vehicle Security System, power outside mirrors, upgraded audio system with six speakers, illuminated steering-wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, trip computer with outside temperature display, and 6-way adjustable driver’s seat.
The FE+ 2.0S includes 2.0 S contents, plus Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).
The FE+ 2.0 SL comes with everything in the 2.0 S, plus lots more: Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, leather-appointed seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, Nissan Intelligent Key keyless entry and ignition system, Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System, XM Satellite Radio, and integrated overhead CD storage.

The 2009 Nissan Sentra features more than 50 standard safety and security features including a traction control system; 3-point ALR/ELR passenger seat belt; advanced airbag system with dual-stage supplemental front airbags; height-adjustable head restraints for all seating positions; seat-mounted side-impact supplemental airbags; roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental airbags; child-safety rear door locks; zone body construction with front and rear crumple zones; vehicle immobilizer system; front-seat active head restraints; LATCH; tire pressure monitor system; pipe-style steel side-door guard beams; hood buckling creases; and 4-wheel anti-lock braking system with electronic brake force distribution (standard on 2.0 S and 2.0 SL).
