Headlight Glare- A Modern Day Menace

Modern Menace

With the recent introduction of Xenon (zeenon) and latter day illegal Halogen light bulbs being fitted to new cars, the dangerous piercing glare of oncoming headlights has become even more hazardous than they were in the past, especially whilst driving in the dark on motorways and unlit country lanes these headlights have the appearance they are on full beam when in fact their not.

It now seems to be the latest craze on “How to annoy other driver’s”, as more and more drivers are driving continuously with their headlights on full beam?

Despite being illegal, it appears that drivers embarrassed driving their old cars, have decided to drive with their headlights on full beam, thus giving the “appearance” from a distance, that their driving a newer model car than they really are, the ‘full beam’ is to trick the observer into believing they are viewing a ‘new’ car with ‘Xenon or Halogen’ headlights on, instead of an old clapped motor vehicle they are trying to mask by this ridiculous, dangerous new fad which seems to be growing, and which results in temporarily blinding any oncoming drivers and their passengers. www.seesafer.co.uk

A motorist has come up with a life saving device which helps prevent being temporarily blinded by the blaring car headlights of oncoming traffic.

A near fatal car accident, where a driver almost killed a cyclist, led to the driver coming up with an idea which allows motorists to see much more clearer whilst driving at night. The inventor David McCann was driving one night around a badly lit square in London, a parked vehicle with it’s headlights on full beam was directly facing him, he had to momentarily squint and slightly detract his vision whilst passing the offending vehicle, by which time it was to late for him to have noticed a drunken cyclist whom so happened to have crossed his path on the wrong side of the road and head towards him, all of a sudden McCann see a man hurtling through the air and head butting his windscreen:- “Due to the parked vehicle with it’s lights on full beam, I was temporarily blinded so slowed right down to around 5mph, if I was going much faster the cyclist would have been killed, he steered directly into the front of my car bumper and because he had a tin of beer in one hand so was only steering with the other, the inertia flew him straight over the handlebars and he head butted my windscreen, which smashed upon the impact due to the sheer weight of him, I was really annoyed because the man was a fool, as was the driver of the vehicle whom chose to keep their headlights on full beam, but I was more concerned I couldn’t see him even though I was driving so slowly, what if a child a run out in front of me, it makes me shudder to think and basically it was due to this shocking experience which led me to come up with the idea of THE SEESAFER® PROTECTIVE SHIELD, if I had had it attached to my windscreen at the time of that accident, I would of no doubt been able to have stopped or swerved away before the cyclist had hit me”. www.seesafer.co.uk
