How to Minimize Car Repair

Unexpected car repair adds up to your expenses and may hurt your budget especially when the money you earned is allotted for something else however to cut unexpected repair cost you have to minimize your car breakdown, by doing this you can save your money for something else.

In minimizing car repair the most important thing to do is to avoid car break down and following the car maintenance schedule that is provided by the car manufacturer is one way of preventing the breakdown to happen. Routine check of your car can saves you from paying for unexpected repair. To minimize breakdown consider doing the following routine check.

At least once every month subject the car to tire inspection like alignment and tire pressure checking. Check the pressure if it is within the car manufacturer specified standard, you can see the tire pressure standard on the car owner's manual. Inspect the tire for an obvious damage like a crack side wall.

Change the engine oil regularly based on schedule provided by car manufacturer, usually it is three months or every 3000 miles but if you frequently use the car for a short distance trip then it is advisable to change the engine oil more often or shorten the oil change frequency to every 1000 miles.

At least monthly conduct checking of the brake fluid, open the hood and locate the brake fluid reservoir observed if the level of brake fluid is within the minimum level, just add enough amount of fluid if its below minimum, if the fluid is always below minimum when checking regularly then there might be a leak somewhere on the system. In this case bring it to the car shop for leak checking.

Check the all the belts such as compressor belt, fan belt, and alternator belt for any cracks or damage as well as looseness, do the checking at least monthly and replace if necessary. If you found that one belt is damage then don't just replace the damage belts, it is recommended to replace all the belts.

Those are just a few routine work that you can do on your car  but it can surely minimize your frequent visit to a repair shop as well as minimizing cost that may incurred during repair when your car breaks down.
