Hyundai EON makes slow start
Hyundai, the Korean car manufacturer is not happy with the sales of its most anticipated hatchback Hyundai EON. As per reports, the Company had huge expectation with Hyundai EON but the car doesn't able to meet all the desires of the Korean auto giant. Arvind Saxena, the head of sales and marketing department of Hyundai Motors, had confirmed the same news, and said that Hyundai Eon has fallen short of their expectation with the sales of just 9000 units out of the 13, 503 units showcased at their sales outlets. Another factor of disappointment is that only 10% conversions of the 96,000 enquire received. Still the Korean manufacturer has faith in their capability and they planned to sales 150,000 unit's sale by 2012 October. The Hyundai have a clear vision regarding their target and they decide to enter in all cities, improving on their dealers network to surge the EON sales.
Hyundai launched its hatchback in month of September, and it was expected that this new hatchback by Hyundai will compete Maruti India's flagship car Alto in the A segment but all the things don't go according to Hyundai's plans. Before the launch Hyundai EON pictures attracts lots of car lover but in reality it is different. Hyundai EON get 9000 bookings in the first week after launch but nature had decided some other things for EON. Hyundai is going through some bad phase since June this year and the festive season also failed to prove good for the Korean Auto giant, which bring happens for the other car manufacturing companies.
Hyundai EON , Hyundai Santro, Maruti A Star, Maruti Wagon R, Maruti Alto, Maruti Estilli, Chevrolet Spark, and Chevrolet Beat are the A and A+ hatchback cars. Due to continues increment in the fuel price and increment in the interest rates on the loans by RBI have forced the Indian people to tight their hands, due to this sales of cars of this segment has reported a decline of 13.7 %. Because of these factors customers also showed least interest in purchasing the new cars which hamper the profit of companies.
In year 2010 Maruti Alto has stood to be the best selling hatchback with 300, 956 units sales during the year surprising the sales of the global best- sellers, Volkswagen Gold and fiat Punto. In terms of price Hyundai EON is placed only a bit higher than Alto as Hyundai Eon price in Delhi is fall under the range of Rs 2.69 to Rs 3.71 lakh and Maruti Alto price is in range Rs 2.31 to Rs 3.17.
