Maruti SX4 is powered by 1.6 L 16-valve M-series engine that generates maximum power of 87bhp @ 6000rpm and maximum torque of 145 Nm @ 4200 rpm. The 1298 cc engine is equipped with MPFI ignition system. The suspensions, brakes, and transmissions were regulated in Europe, with further fine-tuning done to suit the Indian roads.
The beautiful interiors of SX4 have been given a dual-tone theme, which it very appealing. The use of quality materials in the interiors gives the vehicle a premium look. The dashboard of ZXi variant is equipped with fully integrated music system, with steering mounted audio controls. Intuitive cooling in the cabin is facilitated by automatic climate control system. The instrument cluster is elegantly illuminated, with dual info display.
With 4,490 mm length and 1,735 mm width, Maruti SX4 is designed to suit the crowded Indian roads. The muscular and dynamic exterior styling make the sedan look very grand. "Ritz, which will be available in petrol and diesel variants, will be India's first BS-IV compliant car," the company said in a statement, referring to the Bharat Stage IV emission norms. From the side, the sedan has a complete redesign compared to the hatch, especially from the second pillar. It has bigger doors and larger window glass areas that make occupants feel roomier. The DZire's back is entirely different from the hatchback. The trunk lid is raised and has a lip that merges with the shoulder line of the car. A thick chrome garnish on top of the rear number plate attempts to offset the heaviness of the oversized trunk lid. The rear also flaunts new clear-lens combination
