NASCAR Tickets – Kyle Busch Heats up NASCAR Circuits in May
The name Busch is dominating stock car racing right now and it's all thanks to brothers Kurt and Kyle Busch, who have cranked the heat throughout the month of May. Kyle Busch started a trend in early May when he won the Cup Series' Richmond race on May 1, following it up with another Sprint Cup victory at Dover May 16.
Kurt Busch took over the honors in Victory Lane for the All-Star Race on May 22 and again at Charlotte on May 30, winning both Sprint Cup Series races while Kyle Busch helped the Busch name sweep the weekend's events with a Nationwide victory. He followed the win with a third-place finish in the Cup's Coca-Cola 600 that weekend in Charlotte, finishing behind older brother Kurt and Jamie McMurray.
Kyle Busch is currently in second place in driver standings points as of June 3, sitting behind leader Kevin Harvick by 29 points. Busch is pouring on the heat after a mediocre start to the season, and he's equally impressive in Nationwide as he's been in the Cup Series this spring and summer, racking up wins like crazy.
Kyle Busch is one of those NASCAR drivers who always sells NASCAR tickets, be it for his driving ability or tendency to bring drama into any and every situation. The younger Busch has notched five NASCAR wins spread out between Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series races this year, and he pounded out perhaps his most impressive win of the season May 29, when he won the Nationwide Tech-Net Auto Service 300 in Charlotte.
Busch took his crew to all new heights May 29 when he overcame a two-lap deficit to shoot into first place, bypassing Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Justin Allgaier, Ryan Newman and Kevin Harvick in attempts to do so. Busch and Keselowski have had one of the healthiest rivalries of the year in Nationwide this season and the Charlotte N-wide race came down to the two stock car racing stars, with Busch pulling ahead in a restart and zooming into Victory Lane.
Going out with a bang, Kyle Busch will now take the rest of the year to focus solely on his Sprint Cup season and on making the Chase. Reluctantly walking away from Nationwide while he's on a hot streak, Busch called his early departure from the second-tier series a "bummer" while Keselowski also expressed disappointment in his exit. "I'm really going to miss him," Keselowski told ESPN after Charlotte. "We bring out the best and worst in each other."
Keselowski surely won't miss Busch too much, however, as the two drivers will still compete against each other in the Sprint Cup Series. The next Cup Series race is June 6 at Pocono, and the Gillette Fusion ProGlide 500 will be a monumental race for Kyle Busch, as it marks his 200th start in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
Pocono has historically been a poorly run race by Kyle Busch and his No. 18 Toyota, but maybe with the amount of momentum going into the month of June Busch will have what it takes to make No. 200 count.
