Safety for car is an issue that needs addressing when looking around for a new or used vehicle.
There are numerous safety tests for new cars as well as old statistics going back years for most cars. If the safety rating for any car is poor, lower than average, just don’t bother with it, it might look good but good looks are not the ‘driving’ (excuse the pun) force needed to save your life in the event of an accident. Yes, accidents do happen!
What sort of things should be taken into account as regards safety for car: Low insurance group is a positive, ABS (Anti-lock braking system) brakes, items like traction control, by the way you know how the reviewers on TV switch it off – don’t do that, it really is an aid to keep you safe and look again and you will see they only turn it off on a test track.

Tyres are important, they are often overlooked yet they are the only contact your car has on the road, dodgy tyres, poor quality means danger. It is raining, a daft dog runs out in front of you, you brake, the tyres lose grip, you and car end up in the proverbial ditch, daft dog returns home to a lavish dinner of ‘Scrunchy munch’ the latest food fad for daft dogs.
How about you? Safety for car, you will be extremely annoyed, wretched dog, damn tyres for losing grip on the road. The outcome would probably not have ended this way with good quality tyres.
The difference in cost in paying for better tyres against poor ones is insignificant against the cost of having a car and a worthless write-off is not worth thinking about.
Let us sum up the principle of ‘Safety for car’. The car itself must have a good safety rating, good brakes, a good service history, good tyres, minimum blind spots and must be reasonably enjoyable to drive, next time I will discuss ‘Safety in car’.
