The Bmw Concept X6 at Iaa Frankfurt

At the 2007 International Motor Show (Internationale Automobil Ausstellung, IAA), the German automaker BMW has unveiled their new vehicle model that is dubbed as the "concept innovation of the world’s first Sports Activity Coupe." Called the Concept X6, this new model will be added to BMW's very own Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) segment.

The design characteristics of the BMW X6 Sports Activity Coupe Concept combine the elegance and sporty features of a BMW Coupe with the bold and aggressive features of BMW X. In addition, the BMW Concept X6 will be the first model to be equipped with Dynamic Performance Control to provide unique directional stability and precision for all driving conditions. This model will also feature the German automaker's intelligent xDrive all wheel drive technology.

The German automaker described the exterior of the BMW Concept X6 in their recent press release: "The powerful presence of the car’s body merges smoothly and harmoniously with the low slung roof of the greenhouse. This flowing roofline is indeed a characteristic element of the coupe silhouette, just like the short front overhang, the long wheelbase and long rear overhang. In its design, BMW Concept X6 expresses all the DNA so characteristic of BMW X. The optical balance of the front and rear wheels clearly visible from the side bears convincing testimony to BMW’s intelligent xDrive all-wheel-drive technology. "

Other exterior highlights of the BMW Concept X6 include convex and concave surfaces, striking front view, extra-large BMW kidney grille, air intake with robust slats, headlights cut in a sharp profile, clear accentuation of the side panels,. wheel arches with flared contours, bumper elements finished in body colour, innovative designed rear lights, exhaust tailpipes and horizontal lines that emphasize wide track, dark paintwork, sill trim at the side, chrome coloured slats, foglamps with special surrounds in the outer air intakes, chrome plated tailpipes, milled aluminium on the underfloor, Y-spoke design light alloy wheels measuring 21 inches, exterior mirrors with a white-glistening strip of lights between the lower unit finished in body color, muscular bumper with classic design elements, rear lid integrated with a striking air flow contour lip, L-shape rear lightsand indicator lines integrated in the rear lights.

The aesthetic and aerodynamic components complement the exterior features of the BMW Concept X6. The car features a dynamically flowing coupé roofline with a high sill-line, muscular wheel arches, strong centre of gravity, offering a sporty and elegant driving feel. A rear spoiler completes the car's aerodynamic package.

Other details and the complete technical specs of the BMW X6 Sports Activity Coupe Concept (including BMW water pump) will be announced soon.
