Toyota Recalls 94, 000 Sienna Units Due To Faulty Switch Bracket

In the report that was published at the Wall Street Journal, the company has announced a voluntary recall of some 94, 000 of its Sienna minivans in the US because there are problems with a bracket holding the brake-light switch. The report further said that the car company said that the switch bracket on 2011 Sienna may become deformed by the driver's feet because of the proximity of it to the parking brake pedal when it is fully depressed. It would depend on how deformed the bracket becomes in some situations, brake lights may stay on or in cases of significant deformation, and the brakes would become partially engaged, according to Toyota as it was published in the report. The report also mentioned that the owners of the vehicles who are involved in the recall are going to receive a notification of the recall starting in the middle of January. It would also come with instructions for what to do if they are going to experience the problems. By late February, the replacement parts are available and owners will receive a second notice. They will be asked to make an appointment with a Toyota dealer to have the problem fixed without charging them a cent, according to the report. Toyota said in a statement that "Owners will receive a second notice by first class mail in approximately late February, once replacement parts become available, and asked to make an appointment with any Toyota dealer to have the remedy performed at no charge,".
