A manual transmission must use a clutch disc and pressure plate to transfer the power from the engine to the transmission. These are mated or engaged from the clutch pedal. Most clutched either are cable operated or hydraulic and the slang term for these transmissions were once a stick shift. Some manual transmissions were even on the column of the vehicle.
There are many things that you need to consider when you are getting your transmission and you are looking at auto parts that go with the transmission. These are the things that will help to run your car and to help you when you are not sure as to what gear you need to be in. This is something that you need to think about when you are looking at transmissions because they can be very hard to get changed out if they are not right.
