The Problem

The Problem:

(Note 1 in every three girls and 1 in every 4 boys is molested by age 18)

Pedophiles have an average of over 260 victims during their lifetime.

Over 90% of convicted pedophiles are arrested again for the same offense after their release from prison.

"There are over 400,000 registered sex offenders in the United States, and an estimated 80 to 100,000 of them are missing. They’re supposed to be registered, but we don’t know where they are and we don’t know where they’re living."~ Ernie Allen, President of the national Center for Missing and Exploited Children to co-anchor Hannah Storm on The Early Show

2/3 of all prisoners convicted of rape or sexual assault had committed their crimes against a child.

The behavior is highly repetitive, to the point of compulsion, rather than resulting from a lack of judgement.

~Dr, Ann Burges, Dr. Nicholas Groth, et al.in a study of imprisoned offenders

More than ½ of all convicted sex offenders are sent back to prison within a year. Within 2 years, 77.9% are back.

~California Department of Public Safety

There is only one D.P.S. worker per 1000 convicted sex offenders.

As a society why is this not being addressed on a more aggressive approach?

We can we must be proactive in our approach to  solving this epidemic and it's root causes, until people start talking about it nothing will change!

False Hope Politics and Legislation = "Feel Good Programs"

Only 1 % of the more than 2000 children reported missing everyday in the United States qualifies for the Amber Alert!

A "professional" pedophile knows this and also knows there is no national protocol between states to work together on guidelines for issuing the alerts.

What does that mean, well simply this, a car traveling at 60 miles an hour can be 120 miles away in two hours. That is usually another state, which when the alert is issued it is of no concern to the abductor, because they are out of the issuing range of the alert?

Why is this not being addressed?

Not Necessarily My Problem Right?

By: Joe Tillman | 04/01/2009 | Causes & Organizations
It is not being talked about, when was the last time you heard a public services announcement about the real statistics? A commercial about molestation? Sure sex-offenders are all over the place, in the news, and on line. They're easy, they have a big red cross on their backs labeled sex offender! What about the silent perpatrators/predators? The silent victims? Where is that on line at, or in the news? "Let us remain silent no more!"~Joey Tillman
