Wheels for Wells is a really great organization for a very worth cause.
Wheels for Wells wants to assemble a team of twenty riders to ride across america to raise awareness and raise funds for the water crisis in Africa.
Look around the site to see what we’re up to, why we did this, and how you can join us in supporting Blood:Water Mission.
Their Goal is to raise $200,000 in order to install water wells in North Africa to provide clean drinking water for over 40,000 people.
How can you get involved?
1. The need volunteers to offer one hour a week to email churches across America and see if they would like to participate. They need volunteers to spread the word (via word of mouth, blogging, calling, emailing friends, posting on FB or myspace)
2. They are looking for riders for the whole ride or 1 week of the ride. Route details can be found here. Check and see if they'll be in your area!
3. They are looking for financial support. Any amount you can give would be a huge help!
4 children die every minute due to lack of access to clean drinking water and sanitation. 1 in 6 are affected world wide. Compassion Corps has figured out a way to get clean drinking water to 40,000 people through their Wheels for Wells program. However they really need volunteers to make their effort a success.
This can all be prevented. We just need some help in making this dream a reality. Please seriously consider being part of this cause/movement, as we are very lucky in the US and other countries where our drinking water is clean, and we have available water to drink. We don't have to trek miles and miles just to get a drink of water. We need to stop and remember how fortunate we are and realize that so many people in other countries go without clean drinking water each and every day of their lives. This can be changed, with your help!

Champagne cake
By: Melinda | 26/10/2009 | DessertsI found a great recipe for Champagne cake when I was searching the internet the other day. I generally make boxed mixes and add ingredients to them to spice them up, but I decided to live on the edge and try making a cake from scratch. Also my husband and I don't drink but were given a bottle of champagne as a gift and didn't know what to do with it, so we found a great recipe for this champagne cake.
