LG Viewty Smart
Which phone fits the phrase 'phone that's nearly a smartphone, without actually being a smartphone'? It's the aptly named LG Viewty Smart. Following on from the original Viewty, the LG Viewty Smart follows the same design ethos of having a touchscreen only interface (the awesome S-Class interface), squeezed into a slim body, but it ups the ante with a superb 8MP camera.
It also has HSDPA, making it a truly portable internet device. Put simply, the LG Viewty Smart is the smartest non-smartphone in the world!
Samsung Tocco Ultra
But what happens if you want a phone that has both a touchscreen AND a keypad? Then for you, there's the Samsung Tocco Ultra, that combines the touchscreen goodness of the Tocco, with the sleek looks of the Ultra Edition series, to make a phone that's shockingly thin, considering it includes both a huge touchscreen, and a full alphanumeric keypad.
The Samsung Tocco Ultra also inherits the TouchWiz interface from its predecessor, and that makes for an incredible user experience. The features are better than the Arena, too, as it also has an 8 megapixel camera.

So, we come to the final phone in this shootout, that began with the LG Viewty Smart. It's the smartest non-smartphone in the world, and the Samsung Tocco Ultra may well be the prettiest. So, now we've got slim and sexy let's see a phone that's slim, sexy, AND a powerful smartphone: the Samsung Omnia HD. It takes the crown of most powerful on this list for two reasons. First, the Samsung Omnia HD is built on Symbian, so whilst the interface will be familiar (the top shell is TouchWiz again), the phone gets a massive power boost over its siblings, giving it real smartphone credentials. The other factor that makes the Samsung Omnia HD so spectacular is video. Not only does it take still images at 8 megapixels, but the Samsung Omnia HD will also record video in true, 720p resolution, high-definition video. No other phone in the world can do that yet, so the Samsung Omnia HD must surely be the best 8MP phone in existence!
