A Good Reason for International Cell Phones

Travel has so many benefits for travelers on a mental, physical and emotional plane, that they couldn't all be listed here in this article. Unfortunately, so many people overlook these benefits in contrast to the expense of traveling, that it bears repeating: travel is good for you. It is true that in today's economy and with gas prices the way they are, it may seem more financially responsible to stay at home and keep on working for that extra few week's worth of money. Some still take the time off, but opt for a "staycation," which is basically just staying at home; almost nobody actually manages to relax, then. You'll either get sucked into house projects, guilt over not doing said projects, or enforced laziness, none of which are actually relaxing or refreshing pursuits of time. While your wallet might find such things to be good alternatives, the rest of you probably won't agree.

Another reason that people sometimes worry about being able to go on vacation is that they feel they cannot responsibly maintain radio silence for that long a time. Well- here's a solution. Instead of feeling like you drop off the face of the earth when you travel to a different place on the globe, why not use international cell phones or satellite cell phones as an alternative? That way, you can answer your phone and feel responsible as you lie on a deck chair on your cruise boat as you watch the Caribbean islands slowly come into view, or perhaps you're staring up at glaciers--whatever floats your boat. Once you've dropped the excuses, there are some really great benefits to this vacation of yours. For on thing, travel interrupts the daily grind. No more nine to five monotony here! It's time to get out of your ruts and break all those bad habits you've picked up. See how life is lived in other vacations- how it is paced, when meals are eaten- what meals consist of- when you want to go to bed, etc. You'll eat new foods, try new things, and while you probably won't be sticking to a diet, by any stretch, you are also likely to be snacking less and walking more. Ah, exercise. You won't even notice how much you are getting in your enthusiasm for new activities and sightseeing. You will probably notice your increased metabolism and how much more easily you fall asleep at night. The vitamin D from all that fun in the sun certainly won't hurt either!

When it comes to choosing between a satellite phone and an international cell phone rental, the choice is actually pretty clear. A cellular phone works in populated areas where there are cell towers, and hence, reception. A satellite phone, in that it receives its signal from satellites orbiting the earth, needs only a clear sight line to the sky. If you're heading for cities, a cell phone will do just fine. If your destination is out at sea, a deserted island, a high mountain range, a desert or a jungle, you are definitely going to need a satellite phone to make any calls.
