The BlackBerry Pearl 8100 White rocks a 2.25-inch TFT screen and can display 65,000 colours at a 240x260-pixel resolution. Like the company's other connectivity devices, it's not a touch screen, but it offers a sharp, clear display with vibrating colour combinations and is great for surfing, viewing e-mail, images, and Web sites. It also inherits facilities like light-sensing technology, so it will automatically adjust the screen and keyboard depending on your changing environment. It adjusts the display's light so that the user can still read it in direct sunlight. You have the option to change the screen's theme; back light time, font size, style, and family. A small LED above the screen illuminates different colours for different status messages like green for wireless, blue for Bluetooth, red for new messages, and amber for low battery situations. There's also a mute button on top of the device for the convenience of the user.

The BlackBerry Pearl 8100 White supports a 1.3-mega pixel camera with a flash and 5X zoom. It should be noted that this model doesn't have video recording capabilities like most camera-equipped smart phones and cell phones. You also don't get as many of the customising options, but you have the option to choose from three picture sizes (1,280x1,024, 640x480, and 320x240) and three quality settings (normal, fine, and superfine). You can easily adjust the white balance setting depending on your environment. When the photos are taken, you can save them to your device's internal memory or to the media card, or set them as caller ID or as your home screen. In this mobile phone, you have several options for sharing your images with family and friends through e-mail, a multimedia message, or an instant message. The slide-show feature is available, but there was an annoying "Loading..." message in between every picture.

For music lovers, the BlackBerry Pearl 8100 White supports MP3, AAC, MIDI, and WAV files, among others.
