Mobile ringtones are fairly expensive items to buy. Typically, a ringtone can cost anywhere between £1 and £5 depending on supplier. You see mobile ringtones advertised all over the place with the internet, television and in magazines being the most popular locations. To download a mobile ringtone, most ringtone company's require you to send a SMS to a specific short code telephone number to get your download, which then reverse charges your mobile phones bill with a certain amount.

Much to many people's amazement, you can actually get mobile ringtones completely free of charge. To do so, it's a fairly simple and non-technically complex process.

In order to download mobile ringtones free of charge, what you will require is:

- Mobile Phone
- Data Cable
- Internet

The process works as follows; search on Google or any other major search engine for a free MP3 website. Once found, browse the selection of MP3 files and once happy with your  selection then download the your choice to your computer (this will become your ringtone).

After you have your MP3 file, what you need to do is connect the data cable from your computers USB port to your mobile phone's USB socket.

Once connected, your computer should then allow you to select a removable storage device which is your mobile phone.

If you then open up the removable storage device, find a relevant location within your mobile phone to store the MP3 file. once found, simply drag and drop the MP3 file to your mobile phone. The transfer should then begin and only take a few seconds to a minute maximum.
