Eight megapixel phones have become much more common, but which one is best? Let's take a look at three that show off their cameras to the full.
LG Viewty Smart
The first Viewty was one of the most successful phones LG have ever made, and now, the true successor to the name has arrived in the shape of the LG Viewty Smart. Featuring the new touch-based S-Class UI, the LG Viewty Smart is an incredible phone to use, with slick animations and smooth transitions between screens and menus. As well as the 8MP camera in the LG Viewty Smart, you also get a stunning multimedia player, and super-fast internet access, making the LG Viewty Smart one of the coolest camera phones out there.
Samsung Tocco Ultra
But what if you want a phone that has both a touchscreen AND a keypad? Then say hello to the Samsung Tocco Ultra, which combines the touchscreen goodness of the original Tocco, with the sleek looks of the Ultra Edition series, to make a phone that's shockingly thin, considering it includes both a huge touchscreen, and a full alphanumeric keypad. The Samsung Tocco Ultra also inherits the TouchWiz interface from its predecessor, and that makes for an incredible user experience. The features are better than the Arena, too, because as you might have guessed, it also has an 8 megapixel camera.
Samsung i8910 HD
The LG Viewty Smart is undoubtedly going to be a superb touch phone for those on more of a budget, and the Samsung Tocco Ultra takes the crown for being the most fashion-conscious. The Samsung i8910 HD, though, has one big advantage over the other two. Whilst it has an 8 megapixel camera, the Samsung i8910 HD is also the first phone to record true 720p HD video. Never before has a phone been able to capture video at that massive high resolution, and coincidentally (or is it coincidence? Maybe not...), the Samsung i8910 HD captures high-def video at the exact quality that Youtube display high-def videos at. It's very possible that the Samsung i8910 HD was designed with its main feature being the ability to get yourself on Youtube, in high-definition. Combine that with the sumptuous 3.7 inch screen, and a huge 8Gb of internal memory, and it's very clear that the Samsung i8910 HD, just like the other two on this list, deserves its place as one of the phones of the year!
