Complete with speedy web connectivity and navigation facilities, the phone is well connected and there has been a lot of buzz around the phones usability with the former Blackberry 5 OS now scrapped.

Following a trendy, futuristic design the Torch is quite compact in size and the shape fits snug in the palm of your hand. The slider mechanism feels very rigid and reliable while the tasteful chrome finish is remarkably resistant to scratching. This phone is very well made and the build quality is obvious from the moment you pick up the phone. It weighs 161.1grams which is not that heavy, but you do get the feel of luxury and expensiveness. And oddly the phone is only 14.6mm which is very slim considering it has to accommodate a slide out QWERTY keyboard.

The new 6 OS has obvious tweaks to the interface which improve the overall experience; it is smoother and the track pad is very responsive. The capacitive touch screen is very smooth and receptive, allowing multi-touch, it enables users to navigate the interface at incredible speeds. Packed full of features the device utilises a 624MHz Marvel processor to get jobs done, there is Bluetooth 2.1 and GPS with Blackberry Maps.

The combined efforts of Wi Fi and UMTS/HSDPA 3G band coverage allow the phone to communicate over the internet at lightning speeds while delivering great support for the in-house Blackberry Messenger and social network integration with Facebook and Twitter compatibility. E-mail accounts are also supported by the phone with a pre-installed document editor and instant messaging can also be performed over the likes of WindowsLive and GoogleTalk.

The camera has a 5MP lens and comes with flash; you also get an image stabilizer and auto focus, there is even a 2x digital zoom and multiple image capture settings to play with. The camera is capable of high resolution video recording and you can upload those special videos and photos to the internet with full YouTube and Facebook sharing facilities. The Blackberry Torch is capable of playing a huge number of varied file types in audio and video formats, this is great if users utilise different sources for there music and media content. The phones memory can be expanded up to 32GB and an 8GB microSD card comes as standard, so there is loads and loads of potential storage space.

Debuting a new operating system can be quite tense affair, especially when you are trying to iron out the kinks of a previous system. The Blackberry 6 OS allows the phone to run very smoothly and the phones touch control is very receptive thanks to the capacitive technology. The Blackberry Torch is visually, very appealing and distinguished, from the modernized look to the slick user interface; the phone is oozing style and sophistication.  We are still waiting for a release date on this phone, so watch this space.
