HTC Touch HD2 Mobile Phone Review - Ground breaker
The HTC Touch HD2 is really a ground-breaking phone. With its amazing screen, this phone looks more like a tablet.
Appearance:
This sexy looking phone is constructed out of glass, plastic and aluminum. The awesome screen measures 4.3 inches and has 800x480 multi touch display. Around the screen is some black trim and a row of user friendly buttons.
This impressive device is 120.5mm tall and 67mm wide and it weighs in at 157 grams. It definitely is an attention grabber, but it's not the easiest phone to slip into your pocket, this is a large phone.
It offers a QWERTY virtual keyboard with both portrait and landscape modes and also offers a Swype keyboard.
Sound:
The sound quality of the HTC Touch HD2 is amazing. The audio is playable directly from TouchFLO 3D GUI with MP3,WAV,WMA and eAAC+ player. Of course, you get the ever popular 3.5mm headphone jack so you can listen to your tunes on your favorite headphones.
Camera:
If you enjoy snapping pictures of friends and family, the Touch HD2 offers a 5 megapixel camera, with auto focus and a dual LED flash. Then , when you're ready to view your photos, you and your friends can enjoy them on the new river-flow gallery.
The HD2 also has finger touch control, letting you zoom in and out of pictures, web pages or documents with just a pinch of your fingers. Unfortunately the camera does suffer from shutter lag at times.
We found the video on this phone to be better then some other mobile devices. The video can be recorded in VGA at 30 frames per second.
Internet Connectivity:
When it comes to keeping you connected, the HTC Touch offers an amazing array of features, such as, class 12 versions of both GPRS and EDGE. HSDPA at speeds of up to 7.2Mbps and HSUPA at speeds of up to 2Mbps. The phones Wi-Fi will keep you connected at various hot-spots and the Bluetooth v2.1 will let you easily transfer data and files with other Bluetooth compatible devices. The quad band technology will keep you connected no matter where you travel.
If you are a fan of social networking you will be happy to know that this phone has applications for Facebook and Twitter.
For the business part of your life the Touch has pre-installed functions such as, MS Excel, MS Word, Power Point , OneNote and PDF file system.
Memory and Talk Time:
With only 448MB of RAM you might want to use the micro SD cardslot to boost your memory up to 32GB.
The rechargeable Lithium ion battery will give you 320 minutes of talk time and 390 minutes of stand by between charges.
Conclusion:
The 4.3 inch glass screen is amazing, as a matter of fact, the whole headset is amazing and the camera and battery life are not that bad. So, I would say that this phone is worth a second look.
