Innovative Features Coming With The New Blackberry Storm 3
Despite reports suggesting that the new Blackberry Storm 3 being cancelled; this has not stopped people talking about it, and with the talk comes news of some improved specs to feast our eyes on.
Love it or hate it, RIM is gonna keep pushin' the BlackBerry Storm line until they get it right. With Apple and Android storming ahead in the popularity contest, RIM has been searching for a way back into the popularity lists as of late.
So what awaits the BlackBerry Storm 3? Well, for one, a better camera. While initial reports pegged it at 5MP, the current module appears to be 8MP, with fixed-focus and a dual-LED flash.
Along with this, you can expect to see the almost signature trackpad, a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors, WiFi, GPS, and Bluetooth. Battery life is also expected to give us 9 hours of constant talk time and 432-hours of stand-by-time.
It has been rumored that the Blackberry Storm 3 screen will also include 16 million colors lit up by AMOLED technology, switching to AMOLED would be a pretty big deal for RIM, who has stuck with LCD for a long time. So, we shall see whether this major change did take place once the Storm 3 is released.
Other upcoming Blackberry Storm features allegedly include World Roaming capabilities and Wi-Fi 802.11n with mobile hotspot capabilities, the fresh new Web-kit browser and more importantly the upcoming Blackberry 6 OS. Also leaked out is that along with the Blackberry OS 6, the Blackberry Storm 3 will possess 512 MB and support for microSD cards up to 32GB.
Additional specs include the onboard GPS, Blackberry Maps, and integrated media player, Synaptics Touchscreen technology and support for application downloads from Blackberry Apps World are also included.
Reportedly, RIM is planning to bump up the core spec. The new Storm 3 may feature a 1GHz processor, which will make it more competitive in a market dominated by powerful Android phones driven by 1GHz processors.

So, what is the Blackberry Storm 3 release date? Well, rumors state the the reason that the release was cancelled is because Verizon felt that the Blackberry Storm 3 was too close to Storm 2 version; such that it couldn't be considered an upgrade to make the Verizon Blackberry lineup. But there are rumors that despite this cancellation, its release is set to the first quarter of 2011. It seems also, that this is supported by BestBuy which has the 9750 RIM Blackberry Storm 3 on their website. So, look for it to come to your local retail stores soon.
