Is the Nokia 5310 Mobile Phone Suited for Music Lovers?

Mobile phone manufacturer giant Nokia first released the Nokia 5310 in December of 2007. With the dozens of models included in the line of Nokia mobile phones, how does the Nokia 5310 stack up? How does it compare against similar mobile phones in the market.

A Quick Look at Design of the Nokia 5310 Mobile Phone

When purchasing any brand of mobile phone, there are several factors that you need to take into consideration before buying. Naturally, you need to check out the design. Is the material made of cheap plastic, metal or some other material? The Nokia 5310 mobile phone has a great design.

It belongs to the category of ultra-slim phones, which only measures 9.9 millimeters in thickness. The Nokia 5310 has a great solid black colour, with your choice of blue, red, purple of black trim to break the monotony. It has a great, solid feel when you hold it in your hand, despite the fact that it is quite a slim phone.

The material of the exterior casing is predominantly plastic, but it is solid enough with an easy-to-press keypad.

How About the Features?

Another good thing about the Nokia 5310 is that with its ultra-slim frame, the features included in the phone are never compromised.

The Nokia 5310 has the following features:
- 16M color QVGA display with dedicated music keys
- Built-in, 2 Megapixel camera with video capabilities
- 30 MB internal memory
- microSD memory card of up to 4GB
- Bluetooth connectivity
- Stereo FM radio
- MP3/MP4/AAC/eAAc/WMA music player
- 3.5 mm AV jack

For all the music lovers out there, you will definitely love the freedom brought about by the audio jack - which allows you to listen to music using standard earphones. It also has A2DP Bluetooth stereo to wirelessly connect the phone to compatible headsets and stereo speakers.

The Downside of the Nokia 5310 Mobile Phone

The only downside that we see to the Nokia 5310 is that the camera is mediocre - but if you are looking for a music phone, this is not really a big deal. There's also no 3G networking capability.

How does the Nokia 5310 Stack Up Against Other "Music Phones"?

When the Nokia 5310 was first launched in the market, it was pitted against Samsung Tunez. The other mobile phone models which are dubbed as music phones include:
- LG Muziq
- LG VX8550 Chocolate
- Sony Ericsson W580i

When you take into consideration the features, the form factor and the music played, the Nokia 5310 can be declared as the overall winner - as compared to these other brands of music phones.

Music Mobile Phone versus Digital Music Player

If you do not yet have a mobile phone or if you already have one but you would like to upgrade, you can definitely consider getting the Nokia 5310 over purchasing a digital music player.

Just check out the Nokia 5310 reviews online. From these feedbacks on the Internet, you would see that the mobile phone is a great, slim music-player-con-mobile-phone.

All in all, if carrying you want your mobile phone to store your music library too, the Nokia 5310 is exactly what you are looking for.
