LG Mobile Phones - Developments so Far in 2008

When you think about the next mobile phone that you will be purchasing, there may be a few brands which immediately comes to your mind. Aside from the most obvious choices, one of the many handsets included in the line of LG mobile phones may be exactly what you are looking for.

LG Electronics is actually a South Korea based company which is a flagship company of the LG Group.

LG Electronics was founded in 1958, and they specialize in the following industries:
- Digital appliance
- Digital display
- Digital media
- Mobile communications

The Most Popular Lines of LG Mobile Phones Available in the Market Today

Since LG Electronics is the world's third largest appliance maker - it is but natural for them to branch out in manufacturing mobile phones.

LG Electronics first experienced success in the mobile phone industry way back in 2006 - when the first LG Chocolate mobile phone was launched.

So what are the LG mobile phones which are available in the market today?

1. LG Chocolate Mobile Phones

The original LG Chocolate mobile phone, the KV5900 was originally released in Korea. This was even before the popular LG Chocolate mobile phones were released in the US or the UK.

The company had a 'delicious' way of naming the different colours and versions of the LG Chocolate phones released: there's Mint Chocolate, White Chocolate, Strawberry Chocolate and Cherry Chocolate - which are all slider phones.

2.  LG Shine Mobile Phones

Another line of slider phones popularized by LG Electronics is the LG KE970 or LG Shine phones. This feature-packed phone has an all-metal design and a mirror finish display which makes it a real eye candy.

Later on, LG Shine was released in Titanium Black Edition, Andy Lau Edition, Iron Man and Gold Edition.

3. LG Prada Mobile Phones

Every once in a while, fashion designers team up with electronics companies to come up with a high-fashion electronic gadget.

This is exactly what the LG KE850, or the LG Prada Phone, is all about. The first LG Prada Phone was launched in December of 2006 - and a newer version, the Prada II LG Phone, is already in the works.

Quite possibly, the LG Prada II Phone will be released by Christmas of 2008 - although there is no word yet on exactly what the phone will look like.

Yet Another Fashion Phone: The LG Lotus

In another fashion-electronic merger, LG Electronics has teamed up with Project Runway winner and fashion designer Christian Siriano to come up with the LG Lotus.

This is an attractive clamshell mobile phone which will be available in two casings: textured purple and satin black.

The LG Lotus has a 2-Megapixel camera, 12GB memory and it has a full QWERTY keyboard.

Other Developments for LG in 2008

There is still much to be had in terms of the developments for LG for the rest of the year. First, there is the launching of the LG KC910 Renoir which is the successor to Viewty. The LG Chocolate 3 mobile phone is already available - and there should be a lot more to expect from LG, one of the most successful mobile phone manufacturers in the world.
