LG Electronics, for one, has been involved in the design and development of some very stylish camera mobiles. The LG Viewty Silver is one of the more popular LG mobile phones from this category. This smartphone from LG is also a stunner in the way it is designed. The handset comes with a silver casing and hence the name. This is a tri band GSM/HSDPA camera phone which is equipped with a 5 mega pixel camera that has a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. Its video camera records and shows videos in QVGA and VGA video file formats. The device can show QVGA files at a rate of 120 frames per second (fps) and VGA files at a rate of 30 fps. Its camera is equipped with auto focus and also features strobe flash. The device is also equipped with a secondary VGA camera which may be used for making and receiving video calls.
The LG Viewty has 256K colors TFT touchscreen display that has a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. The device has support for Bluetooth 1.2 and EDGE networks. It uses a standard Li-ion 1000 mAh battery that has a standby time of up to 430 hours and a talk time of up to 4 hours. Its phone book can store up to 500 contacts. There is enough room in the phone book to store information related to each contact's street address, email ID and job title etc. The handset comes with 40 MB of shared memory that can be expanded further by using a micoSD memory card, if required.
The Viewty comes with a built in WAP 2.0 browser that shows web pages in XHTML format. The handset measures 103.5 x 54.4 x 14.8 mm and weighs 112 gm. The LG Viewty supports SMS, EMS, MMS and Email Messaging. It is equipped with a number of useful and important applications like Voice Memo, built in Hands Free and a FM radio with RDS. The device comes loaded with many interesting Java and 3D games.
