Mobile Phone Contracts

When choosing a mobile phone contract there are many things to consider. With an ever changing array of text and talk deals out there it is easy to feel lost and confused. The 5 major mobile phone networks are 02, Orange, Virgin, TMobile and Vodafone. All offer the latest and greatest handsets, so how do you choose between them.

Firstly analyse how much you use your phone. If you don’t’ call out too much then you might be better off going for a pay as you go phone rather than a contract. Alternatively you should choose a low rate contract deal to keep your monthly payments low.

If you talk a lot on your mobile phone, you should definitely look to choose a mobile phone contract with a high inclusive call allowance. Talking on your mobile phone at peak times to other networks can be very expensive. A high call allowance will help to reduce this cost.

If you are a person who texts a lot then you need to choose a package with a high text package. There are specifically designed packages for people who text a lot, but many of the operators allow you to purchase bundles of texts to vadd onto your contract. This is a much cheaper way of paying for text messages than accruing them on your monthly deal.

Of course if you are a “texter” and a talker then you need a deal that will fit your needs. As you would expect there are also contracts to suit the high user. High users often get the best mobile phones for free; such is the value of their contract. If you are looking for a high volume of inclusive text messages and minutes, then make sure you shop around; a lot of providers will be prepared to offer you a lot of additional extras with your contract.

Other things to consider are data allowances (especially if you use the internet a lot) and contract length. Many network providers are offering 12 and 18 month deals in return for better phones, minutes and texts. If you don’t switch that often, then take advantage.

Do you already own a mobile phone? If you do, then why not consider purchasing a contract sim card and put into your existing mobile phone? This means that you are not tied into a 12 month deal, but you still receive the perks associated with a contract deal, such as inclusive minutes and text messages.

Overall choosing a mobile deal needn’t be a stressful affair. Make sure that you shop around and compare the market before you buy. After all you will be committed for at least 12 months, so you need to feel comfortable with the deal that you choose.
