Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition is the new phone manufactured by Nokia especially for those who like to travel a lot. It seems to be the twin brother of Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic Edition. Apart from all the features of the Xpressmusic, it has got additional features that pertain to navigational purposes. They both share exactly the same look, outer silver lining along the sides of Navigation Edition being an exception.

There are large range of navigational features that it provides. It has lifetime voice guided drive and walk navigation licenses. You can quickly access regional maps with zooming capabilities in it and Ovi maps with high resolution aerial images are also available. You can also use other features like weather services, traffic and safety warnings and 3D landmarks. The handset has a sleek form and has full touch user interface. The display is 3.2 inches wide with the resolution 640 x 360 pixels. With the aspect ratio of 16:9, you can watch high quality videos on it. It supports 16 million colors and has 3D image engine too. The accelerometer automatically senses the orientation of the phone and rotates the image accordingly. You can use stylus, plectrum or finger touch for the input and other user interface controls. There are dedicated media bar touch key so that you can access music, gallery, share on line video centre and web browser.

You can capture the beauty on your way with the 3.2 mega pixel camera. It has Carl Zeiss optics and 3 times digital zoom. Dual LED flash helps you to take pictures even in the dim conditions. There are other camera features too like auto focus, Red-eye reduction and White balance modes. The photo editor allows you to make necessary changes in the images and helps to beautify them. You can also directly get print outs of the images in your phone from a compatible printer. The main video camera can do recording up to 640 x 480 pixels at the speed of 30 frames per second. The front or secondary camera facilitates video calling. Real player video streaming features are also supported. There is a video editor too. With its music player you can create your own playlists and make selections according to artist, composers, album and genre. It has 8 band equalizer and album graphic display and audio visualizations. The integrated stereo speakers gives you the exalting experience of surround sound.

Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition runs on 5th edition of S60 platform and Symbian OS version 9.4. It supports 3D stereo ring tones, 64 polyphonic ring tones, MP3 and Video ring tones. The handset supports IMAP, POP and SMTP protocols and email attachments. It runs on GSM/EDGE networks of 850/900/1800/1900 frequencies and WCDMA network of 900/2100 frequencies. The device has a memory of 81 MB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 16 GB with a MicroSD card. The gadget offers 8.8 hours of talk time and 406 hours of standby time over GSM network. In WCDMA network, it gives 5 hours of talk time and 400 hours of standby time. You can listen to 35 hours of non-stop music.
