Nokia, the most charismatic cellphone brand today, are engaged in designing an extensive yet exclusive range of quality multimedia phones. The Finnish company itself have made and maintained a certain criteria of phones for decades. The 8xxx series of Nokia is a dedicated series of luxurious phones made from classy materials (metals and alloys). These phones usually have high price due to the fact that these phones have quality, excellence and have a tremendous texture. Literally, holding these devices is a pleasure.

Now, coming to the most latest and compelling phone of this series; Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte, this phone is a successor of Nokia 8800 Sirocco. You might be thinking about what’s more dramatic in this device. There is a multitude of reasons. The preceding model, Nokia 8800 Sirocco was yet another metal phone with a glossy (chocolaty) finish, but this phone is even classier.

 

Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte has tactile surface cloaked in Leather cover (housing). But that’s just not all; the navigation key is made up of Sapphire Crystal. The phone is powered by “Touch ‘n’ Tap Sensor”. The phone has “Tap-for-Time” feature which able the user to display the time just by tapping once on the surface below the screen. The user can also view the missed event by double tapping on the same surface. This phone is yet a perfect combination of beauty, brilliance and technology. The “Turn-to-Mute” feature able the user to silence the incoming calls and alarms gracefully, just by simple turn of the phone (screen side down).

These are the most highlighted features of the intelligent Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte. The phone works in Dual mode (GSM & WCDMA). Like its predecessors, this phone is quiet handy too, the phone weighs 150 grams (with battery), the dimensions of the phone are 109 x 45.6 x 14.6 mm; This phone has 2” OLED (240 x 320 pixels) display which supports upto 16 million colors. The interface of the phone is quiet graphical. It has Nokia Series 40 3rd Edition firmware, the option of user configurable right soft key & menu is also available in the phone. The user can select upto five icons to be displayed on screen in stand-by mode for easy access to favorite applications. Icon based menu makes the navigation more frequent and rapid. Living wallpapers are especially designed for this phone to match the standard and design of the phone which provides a truly marvelous and unique décor.

This phone has an integrated 3.2 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom. Supported image formats are JPEG, GIF, PNG and BMP. The phone supports video recording in VGA format with sound. The phone supports video streaming services in 3GPP, H.2.63 and H.264. Moreover, the phone has an integrated music player, which supports AAC, eAAC+, MP3, MIDI, AMR and WMA file formats. It has fixed shared memory pool of 1GB.

The basic features like MMS & Email (with attachments) are there in the phone. The phone supports Nokia Xpress Audio messaging as well. Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte has a support for Java 2.0 MIDP, the option of downloading Java Applications over-the-air is also provided by the manufacturer. The phone has stereo sound and supports 64-chord polyphonic midi and MP3 ringtones. The phone has an option of setting a video as a ringtone (Video Ringtones). Exclusive video ringtones composed by Kruder and Dorfmeister with visuals by Fritz Fitzke.

The phone is technically strong and has Bluetooth 2.0 with enhanced data rate specification. The Bluetooth is enhanced with A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile). The phone has a Micro USB all-in-one connector which can be used for charging, data transition and for connecting a compatible headset. The phone has GPRS and EDGE: Class B with Multislot Class 8. It also has HSCSD (High Speed Circuit Switched Data) & CSD (Circuit Switched Data) for fast data transmission. The manufacturer has provided an XHTML browser for using Internet which works over HTTP/TCP/IP. Macromedia Flash Lite 2.1.1 is embedded in the phone by the manufacturer for displaying Macromedia Flash Content. The phone does support OMA (Open Mobile Alliance), DRM (Digital Right Management) 2.0 which included forward lock for content protection, combined delivery, separate delivery & super distribution. The phone has advanced voice features (voice commands, voice recorder and voice tags). The speaker phone has SIND (Speaker Independent Number Dialing). The phonebook has a capacity of 2000 contact. Moreover, the phone works in Offline and Flight Mode. The basic features (demo mode) of the phone can also be accessed without a SIM card.

Finally, it concludes that Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte is a luxurious, dramatic, compelling and mysterious phone for those who seek and admire brilliance & beauty in every walk of life.
