Nokia - a smartphone for every pocket!

Nokia have a smartphone for every price range, and no matter your budget, you'll find a smartphone for your needs. Let's take a look at the best three they offer.

Nokia 5530, the budget solution

First on the roster is a whole new member of Nokia's Xpress range of music mobile phones, the mouth-watering Nokia 5530. This phone is pretty obviously designed for music and video; you can tell by the dedicated XpressMedia touch-key that pops up a list of links to music, videos, the web, and more. Oh, and the Nokia 5530 has a beautiful, touch-sensitive display, to actually play with all your media content. Essentially, the Nokia 5530 was designed as a teeny portable entertainment centre, and as music devices go, this is easily one of the prettiest. The Nokia 5530 has also got a 3 megapixel camera, HSDPA data access and GPS, so that it's a superb all-round mobile phone, as well as a superb media box.

Nokia N97 Mini, the mid-range master

One of the big reasons why the Nokia N97 Mini is so anticipated, and why it'll no doubt sell like hotcakes, is that it really IS the N900, but in a more pocket-friendly size. The exact same operating system, Symbian S60 Touch, gives the Nokia N97 Mini a finger friendly interface, and on top of that, the phone has a built in QWERTY keyboard, so it has more ways to access the phone than ever before. It's not just about the interface, though, as the Nokia N97 Mini is packed with high-end features. A 5 megapixel camera makes for superb photos, the multimedia playback is stunning, and with HSDPA and GPS, it's not short of connectivity options. But is it the best Symbian phone money can buy? Well, no. It's nice, but it's just that the other two phones on this list are so much nicer.

Nokia N900, the massively powerful top-ender

So, in the entry-level price range, there's the Nokia 5530, which focuses heavily on music, and in the mid-range, there's the Nokia N97 Mini. The Nokia N900 shocked a great many people when it was announced at the tail-end of 2008, and the main reason for the excitement it's generated is that it's the first ever phone to use the sleek, intuitive Maemo interface, making for a touchscreen experience that is both simple, and entertaining. The Nokia N900 also includes a full, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, so that after you've navigated through the cool menus, actually typing that text message or email is going to easier than ever. Nokia are billing the N900 as a true mobile multimedia computer, a view backed up by the keyboard and incredible interface. However, the Nokia N900 also has its fair share of features to earn that title. You get a 5 megapixel camera for pin-sharp photos, you get a superb multimedia centre, that makes music and movies so compelling. You also get HSDPA internet access, at true broadband speeds, and GPS. Put simply, the Nokia N900 is astounding.
