The Nokia N82 is one of the most exciting handsets to come from the Finnish company for some time. Why ? Well for a start it has built-in SAT NAV, 5MP digital camera and 3G capabilities - Read on !
It may not look like it, but the Nokia N82 is the direct replacement for the N95 model. Whereas the N95 had a chunky look with sliding keypad, the N82 couldn't look more "normal" if it tried. With a straight-forwards "candy bar" shape, simple uncluttered keypad design and nicely proportioned display the N82 doesn't exactly scream attention to you.
The Nokia N82 excels on many fronts. First off, there's the amazing 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, integrated Xenon flash with video recording and playback features, and Wi-Fi capabilities enable you to instantly upload your awesome shots to the Web. If that's not your preference you can create your own slideshows and add your own music in high quality sound, or simply connect to your TV and view your images from the comfort of your armchair. Video capture is an impressive 640x480 pixels at 30 frames per second.
This is a Symbian S60 smartphone, so it comes with a web browser, email client, document viewer, advanced multimedia player and the N82 also has a set of personal information management (PIM) applications.
Another main feature of the Nokia N82 is the internal A-GPS receiver - in other words, it's fast sat nav - that allows you to find your current location much quicker than standard GPS. Explore new places with the inclusion of pre-installed maps and download Nokia maps for FREE to locate points of interest, addresses and even phone numbers in up to 150 countries.
Being as the Nokia N82 has all of the N95 features and software, you shouldn't really experience any problems with the software etc as all the original "bugs" from the N95 have long since been ironed out. One nice feature is the ability of the display to rotate as you turn the handset which is particularly useful when using the SAT NAV feature.
All in all the N82 is a worthy successor to the N95 and plays a functional part in the line up alongside the new superior but much more expensive Nokia N95 8GB
