Nokia N9 - Another Innovation to Serve the Users

Posted: Aug 05, 2011 |Comments: 0 |

The Nokia N9 is the latest phone that is creating a lot of buzz in the Nokia stable right now and the reasons for it doing so are quite clear. It is simply the best of technology that Nokia can make right now and one that it will be employing in future generations of phones. They will be featuring the Windows Phone 7 operating system, but the Nokia N9 can be remembered as the basis for all the good things likely to come in the future from Nokia. It is easily the most promising phone that Nokia has launched in recent times, but sadly, it will be the last device to sport the MeeGo operating system.

However, it has not stopped the Nokia from being lackadaisical in their approach when it comes to making the Nokia N9. They have embellished this phone with all possible high-end features including the 3.9 inch display that uses the AMOLED technology. This brilliant combination results in the fantastic experience when it comes to using the touchscreen display, which again uses the capacitive technology to the best effect. Other features that can be seen within this display includes the high resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, which is usually not a standard feature on phones from Nokia. In fact, this is the best resolution that Nokia has managed to put into its phones. This shows a lot of effort, which is likely to be the basis for the future phones that will feature the Windows Phone 7 operating system.

The Nokia N9 comes with 16 GB of internal memory, which is more than enough for occasional business uses and regular entertainment requirements. Despite the lack of external memory card support, one will be able to maximise the productivity - whether it be entertainment or business - with the Nokia N9. The Nokia N9 provides 1 GB of RAM, which is again by far the best Nokia has managed in any device. This huge amount of RAM would have been useless if the phone did not offer a better processor than the 600 MHz units used in the Nokia N8 and in the Nokia E7. Surprisingly, Nokia has decided to go for the 1 GHz processor - which may not be a dual core unit - but it screams of performance every time you use it. Perhaps, it is because of this extremely powerful processor that the Nokia N9 is able to run the MeeGo operating system efficiently.

Of course, the MeeGo operating system can be compared to the Symbian operating system in many ways, as it is not require a lot of performance from the processor. Still, to provide the phone with a 1 GHz unit makes it look like Nokia seem to have finally learnt from their mistakes. The Nokia N9 will be offering excellent imaging capabilities through its eight megapixel camera in the rear, while it is also having a secondary camera in the front. The Nokia N9 will be available later this month in many countries across the world.

It followed up with announcement from Nokia stating that they would be making Windows phones from here on in, while support to platforms like the MeeGo and Symbian will be much lesser degree than they are currently being done. This, however, has not prevented the company from launching the second phone featuring the MeeGo platform.
