Nokia N96 Versus Nokia N97- A battle between brothers!

Nokia N series mobiles are a perfect combination of latest mobile communication technologies and superior entertainment features. Every successor model in Nokia N-series comes with more added features. All Nokia N-series models have their own charm and compete with each other in terms of their features and utilities. The latest in N-series is the Nokia N97 which has all features to be called as the gadget of the year. This new model succeeds the Nokia N96 which has already made a mark with its unmatched applications and looks. Let us have a comparative look at these two latest models of Nokia N-series .

Design and looks
Nokia N96 is a dual slide opening handset which fits well in dimensions of 103 x 55 x 18 mm and weighs 125 gram. Its one side slides out to keypad and other side slides out to media controls. The Nokia N97 is a well designed touchscreen handset with full sliding out QWERTY keypad. The keypad slide to the left making it perfect to be used in horizontal position. It has a bit bigger dimensions than Nokia N96, it measures 117.2 x 55.3 x 15.9 mm and also weighs 25 gram more than its predecessor. It also has a much wider 3.5 inches TFT resistive Touchscreen with a higher resolution of 360 x 640 pixels as compared to 2.8 inches 240 X 320 pixel resolution screen of N96. Both the stylish handsets are also very handy to keep and carry. The touchscreen of N97 also offers lot many other features like Proximity sensor for auto turn-off, Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate and Handwriting recognition.

Camera Features
Both these latest models of the Nokia N-series namely, the Nokia N96 and the Nokia N97 feature a highly capable 5 mega pixel auto focus camera with Carl Zeiss optics and LED flash. There is hardly any difference in camera features as both handsets record video in VGA format at 30fps. The latter adds a feature of video light and Geo tagging. With the Geo-tagging feature the user can tag images with information like where they were clicked and more. There is also a secondary video call camera in both the models.The N97 also has a video and photo editor to give final touch to the images and videos.

Data Connectivity
Nokia N-series mobile phones are highly capable in terms of data connectivity and offer superior Internet experience to the users. They have earned their name and reputation in terms of Internet access. Both of these 3G smart phones can make speedy data transfer through their GPRS, EDGE, HSCSD, HSDPA, and Wi-Fi features. With USB and Bluetooth features the handsets can also make easy and hassle free data transfer with other compatible devices. In terms of data features and abilities the handsets stand equal but with 434 MHz processor and Symbian OS v9.4 the Nokia N97 is a bit faster than the Nokia N96 with 264 MHz processor and Symbian OS v9.3.

These handsets are super entertainment gadgets with their Stereo visual FM radio and multi format music and video players. The N96 has a DVB-H TV broadcast receiver while the N97 misses it. Both the handsets have TV out port and 3.5mm audio jack to display content on wider TV screens and play music on stereo speakers. With 32GB internal memory and 16GB card slot the N97 scores over Nokia N96 which has internal memory of 16GB and card slot of 16 GB.

As the N97 is latest model so obviously it goes a step further than its Predecessor model and comes with many other added features.
