Personal Radio and Mobile Phone Combined

Sony Ericsson have announced the R300 low budget mobile phone that puts all the attention on its AM/FM radio player. To keep the mobile phone low budget it has basic features such as a 0.3 mega pixel VGA camera, Bluetooth and WAP browser. The mobile phone comes equip with a wired stereo headset that also acts as the radios antenna, as well as featuring a loud speaker on the back fascia of the phone. A neat little addition is the 3 small buttons next to the camera lens on the back of the phone, which allow you to pre programme your favourite radio stations so that you can flick between them easily whilst on the move.

A plus point to the R300 is that it is very light weight, weighing in at just 75 grams. It has 16 days standby time and 9 hours maximum talk time.

The R300 will be available in steel black and antique copper colour schemes, and should be in the shops during quarter two this year.

Sony Ericsson has also announced the R306 radio mobile phone. It looks a lot more stylish than the standard candy bar R300. The R306 is a flip phone that features dedicated radio station buttons on the front fascia, along with an up and down tuner button. There is also a display screen to tell you what station you are on and the built in Sony Ericsson TrackID technology will identify the music that you are listening too.

Again the R306 is a low budget mobile phone, it comes with a 1.3 mega pixel camera which is slightly better than the R300’s, and it also features Bluetooth, WAP browser, and speakerphone. As with the R300 stereo wired headphones are supplied with the standard phone package. It weighs in at 93 grams which again is a pretty lightweight phone.

Both phones come with a handy little device that allows you to record your favourite station onto the 5MB of internal memory.

The R306 will be available in quarter three this year and will be released in coffee black and champagne white colour schemes.
