LG have announced a new addition to their catalogue of handsets that will hopefully prove to be a big hit this summer. The LG KS360 at first glance looks like a pretty standard slider phone but underneath its plain exterior lies a very funky QWERTY keyboard, rather than the standard numeric keypad.
The quirky QWERTY keyboard sports circular buttons with good key spacing (which is useful when composing messages), but has a slightly different layout to a standard QWERTY keyboard. The space bar is positioned in between the V and B keys rather than underneath the V and B keys, which looks good but may take a while to get used to.
The 240 x 320 pixel 2.4” display features touch screen dialling which indicates that the handset will have touchscreen technology built into it. The screen image can be displayed horizontally or vertically, switching the view when the phone is rotated.
Unlike most QWERTY keyboard mobile phones the LG KS360 is very compact, measuring 102 x 51 x 17mm which is approximately the same size as a standard candy bar ‘monoblock’ handset.
The handset also boasts a fixed focus 2 mega pixel camera, microSD expandable memory, Bluetooth, USB 2.0, multimedia player, instant messaging support, web browser and email client.
The LG KS360 is thought to be aimed at the younger market and is rumoured to have an affordable price tag! It will be available in white/pink, titanium/blue, black/red and black/silver colour schemes and is due for release this summer.
