The Samsung SGH-T709 is a sliding phone with 70 MB of user memory. The 262K TFT color display features QCIF resolution and measures 1.9”. The 1.3 megapixel camera features 4x digital zoom and a number of different shot modes - including matrix, self, and multi shot. The phone is also capable of recording 3gp (H.263 + AMR) / MPEG4 video.

The Samsung SGH-T709 cell phone includes a digital music player capable of reading MP3, AAC and AAC+ files. 3D sound technology ensures that the user will get the best sound for MP3 and SMF files. Sixty-four polyphonic ringtones also come with the phone. In compact mode, the phone measures 3.8” high, 1.7” wide and 0.9” thick - further, the unit weighs 3.35 ounces. The sliding faceplate protects the 3 x 4 numberpad when compact, while not losing the user any convenience or time. The basic control buttons are positioned beneath the screen on the exterior of the phone for easy access.

The Samsung SGH-T709 features voicemail, voice memo, and SMS/MMS message service. Smart messaging, including image and sound messaging capability, is one useful feature of this service. Instant messaging through AOL, Yahoo, ICQ or MSN messengers also comes with the phone. WAP 2.0 allows users to browse the Internet on their phone. The Samsung SGH-T709 is equipped with WiFi as well, ensuring that connected users will never be out of their element.

The Samsung SGH-T709 operates on the 850 / 1800 /1900 MHz and 2.1GHz(WiFi) bands, and supports USB 1.1 technology. The phone uses CSD / GPRS Class10 / EDGE Class10. The proprietary operating system ensures that viruses and worms will have a difficult time infiltrating this phone. Users can talk for a minimum of 2.5 hours, and the phone will stand by for a minimum of 200 hours.

The Samsung SGH-T709 includes voice recognition and call cost/call time. Multiparty calls allow for maximum networking efficiency. The standard Personal Information Management features include stopwatch, calculator and calendar. The phone stores up to 1000 phone book entries.

The Samsung SGH-T709 mobile phone is well designed and includes a number of highly useful features - it will no doubt become a favorite of slide phone fans.
