The Samsung U700 has been available for over a year now but a new colour variant has just been released, the new Samsung U700 Violet also known as the U700 Purple edition.
A little confusing since before its release most mobile enthusiasts were under the impression that it was to be called the Samsung U700 Purple but on release by Vodafone they opted in favour of Samsung U700 Violet, so if you stumble across web pages calling the new U700 the Purple Edition you'll now know why.
This great new phone offers exactly the same features and specifications as the original Samsung U700 but with a brand new violet coloured casing.
If features are your thing then look no further, this handset offers the specification of the U100, U300 and U600 only more advanced and with additional functions.
A 3G handset the Violet Samsung U700 includes HSDPA support enabling speeds of 3.6Mbps on data transfers and connects over EDGE technology for seamless connections.
Equipped with a 3.0 mega pixel camera with auto focus, built-in flash and Picture editing software, the Samsung SGH-U700 Violet sports a secondary camera for video calling.
It may not be the slimmest of the bunch, but 12.1 mm is still a pretty good effort in our books considering the phones capabilities.
A Tri Band GSM handset with GPRS and UMTS support, the Violet Samsung U700 with its 2.2 inch screen display, offers memory expansion with microSD and a Media Player supporting MP3, MPEG4 and Real formats amongst many.

The Violet Samsung U700 has been officially launched on Vodafone pay as you go with an attractive price tag, whether the handset will eventually be offered with contract deals is not quite apparent at this time, but judging from the enthusiasm this new model has created it may well be in the networks best interests to launch the Violet U700 on the pay monthly scheme for mobile phones.
