Most of the Elderly have difficulty using a mobile phone because majority of them have either impaired eyesight or have difficulty hearing. It is hard for them to make calls because the model of their mobile phone does not have an earpiece. The elderly also find it difficult to text or write messages because most models manufactured by mobile phone companies use keypads for texting. The old people really find it troublesome to use their phones. They eventually do not use it or they just give it as a gift for somebody they know.
People who are old do not want to trouble themselves using any kind of model of mobile phones because they know that it would only frustrate them. They do realize the importance of having a phone but they are discouraged due to past experiences. I have a Grandmother who has the same kind of problem. My mother and I are having difficulty convincing her to make use our mobile phone gift. We do understand the reasons why she was reluctant because the model unit we gave her is not convenient for her to use. She even wanted to return our gift because she has not use of it. Back then, there was no model unit of phone that caters the needs of the elderly. Nowadays, the technology is present. Samsung's F480 has features that would make it easier for adults to use it. There is no need for a keypad to make messages or to send one. It also has earphones which would enable you to hear clearly the voice of the caller. This new advancement of phone technology is really beneficial for the elderly. I would definitely buy this product as a gift for my Grandmother's next birthday.
