Sony Ericsson S500i: the Fashionable Business Tool

The newly launched S series from Sony Ericsson, in a way marks the entry of this successful joint venture into the fashion mobile phone category. Sony Ericsson has a reputation of producing practical designs and squeezing in as many features as they could. With their latest fashion phone – the Sony Ericsson S500i, the case was no different. What started off as a fashion phone ended up being a truly stylish business solution.

The Sony Ericsson S500i is a sleek slider with high glossy finish. The handset is available in two colour choices – Growing Green and Spring Yellow. Another variant in 'Midnight Blue' is also available in the Russian mobile market. This 2.5G handset is fitted with a TFT(QVGA) display that can produce 262144 different hues across 320x240 pixels. Opening the handset reveals its set of tactile numeric keys, arranged in four lines. The handset is 14 mm thick and weighs 94 grams, thus is very comfortable to handle and carry.

On board camera module of the Sony Ericsson S500i is 2.0 megapixel with digital zoom and video recording capabilities. You can capture pictures in resolution as high as 1600x1200 pixels and share them instantly with your friends via MMS and email, or with the whole world through picture blogging. The Sony Ericsson S500i features a high grade media player with evolved multimedia functions. The on board player supports AAC, AAC+, E-AAC+, MP3, MP4, M4A, 3GP, AMR, WAV and many other formats. Advanced music features that are generally seen in specialized music phones like play-list support, TrackID music recognition and A2DP Bluetooth headset profile finds their places in the Sony Ericsson S550i. The handset's 12 Mb of internal memory can be expanded using a M2 memory card.

The quad band GSM handset is also a master of data connectivity and uses its embedded GPRS and EDGE technologies to achieve near broadband data speed on the mobile phone. A NetFront web browser and an email client that supports POP3 and IMAP4 protocols makes the Sony Ericsson S550i a trusted gateway to the cyber world.
