“Based on the original K750i/W800i platform, every improvement in the W810i comes from revised software. Combined with an ultra bright screen, the new web browser, improved user interface, RSS news reader and better camera all make this the ultimate multimedia mobile.”
What Mobile Magazine – May 2006

The W810i Walkman® is a stylish music player with everything you need for mobile music. An easy-to-use digital music player provides folders for artists and customised play lists. The music software has been updated and now includes a shuffle mode that randomly chooses music tracks.

Sony Ericsson has approached this phone with the attitude of providing superior software in addition to their already recognised successes for providing quality music phones. The W810i provides the usual high standard applications such as java games and Wap internet browsing.

But what is really clever and for all us peeps in the blogging world is the Sony Ericsson W810i’s ability to receive RSS feeds on your mobile. The Rss news reader enables complete RSS update capability in your pocket. Here is a quick low down of what an RSS feed is and why this is an important addition to the mobile world.

As a mobile RSS user you can use the feed reader application of the Sony Ericsson W810i to ‘subscribe' (which is free to do) to any news or blog site’s feed by supplying the reader the URL link to that particular feed.

You can then check the subscribed feeds to see if any of those feeds have new content or news since the last time you checked, and if so, retrieve that content and read it on you mobile.

What a feature! I have a feed reader on my PC that I check daily and now I have a feed reader in my pocket. Sony Ericsson has made it possible to provide me with my selected content, which I actually chose and want to read, whenever I want to read it.
