The Sony Ericsson W890i supports the Walkman 3.0 Player together with the SensMe feature. It supports a wide range of audio formats which are MP3, E-AAC+, AAC+, AAC, M4A, WAV, G-MIDI 1, RealAudio 8, SP-MIDI, XMF File formats and iMelody and Megabass equalizer preset.
A music file can be played directly via the file manager that does not use the media player. The SensMe feature is definitely a nice addition on the mobile phone. It is a new of searching music files, you need not enter the title or artist of the song instead all you need to do is specify what mood you are in. The navigation key is used to broaden and shrink the track selection. Mood is automatically assigned to a music file that has been uploaded through the Media Manager PC application. But if the music file was copied from the File Manager it will not appear in the SensMe matrix so using the Media Manager application is a must. While uploading music files through the Media Manager the mobile phone must be set to Transfer mode where in the device cannot receive any calls.
The Music Recognition feature of Sony Ericsson W890i helps you find the title of the music you are not familiar with. The audio file recorded is searched in the Gracenote database and then the result is sent back to your device.
Playing video with this mobile phone can be fun because you can play any clips in slow motion as well as fast-forward and rewind it. The radio is supported by RDS and can store up to 20 preset stations
