There is always rejoicing when a popular mobil ephone finds its way onto pay as you go but none more so than the latest Walkman phone the Sony W980.

Currently enjoying a massive TV and press media campaign from the manufacturer the Sony Ericsson W980 Walkman phone is proving a popular choice for music enthusiasts and Sony Ericsson fans alike.

Originally released on O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone contract deals the W980 Walkman can now finally be purchased without the need for a network credit check that so many fall fowl of. Consumers can now simply pay for the phone without having to sign up to a lengthy contract deal, this opens doors such as buying the W980 as a present aswell as for a replacement phone for one that may have been lost or stolen.

Although pay as you calls tend to work out more expensive than a contract deal consumers prefer the control factor of only being able to make calls whilst they have credit. Once the credit has run dry they cannot run up a huge and possibly unexpected bill at the end of the month but instead can wait until they have some extra money to run out and buy a new top up voucher.

The pay as you go system is also useful for those who rarely use their phone or want a phone for music and emergencies only, not making lots of calls means that the costs are greatly reduced and there is no ongoing line rental charges to pay each month.

The Sony Ericsson W980 mobile phone brings an unrivalled music experience that gives you everything you need and more for acoustic bliss in a clamshell design.

The key features include Video Recording, Voice Dialling, Camera with Zoom, MP3 Player, Bluetooth, Camera, Instant Messaging, EDGE High-Speed Data, WAP Enabled, Java Enabled, HTML Browser, 3G (Third Generation), Radio, Picture Messaging, Loud Speaker, Flip Phone, Tri-Band, Email, and Real Tones.

Store a massive 8,000 songs with the amazing 8GB of internal memory. Other music features include PlayNow with access to 5 million tracks, TrackID allowing you to identify any track that you can’t put a name to, a built-in FM Radio and MP3 player. The clear bass delivers distortion free sound even at higher volumes, plus SensMe and Shake control make your music experience complete.

Finally use the 3.2-megapixel camera, video recording, Java for great gaming and much more. The unique audio enhancing technology combined with the Walkman prestige makes this fly above the rest.

Now fully released on the UK networks the only payment system left to launch for the Sony W980 is SIM Free, this is where consumers simply pay for the handset in its packaging as the dealers and networks receive it, the price is not subsidised in any way but the extra freedom of not having to use just one network is sometimes worth the cost.
