The Apple iPod Shuffle is a sophisticated digital music player. It can hold upto 240 songs in 128-kbps AAC format. It comes with Apple's characteristic 'Think Differently' look. The music player looks quite different to contemporary players of other manufactures. A standard-size headphone jack rests on top of the device. It is encased in a bright white plastic and looks similar to a white LEGO brick.
Its jack also doubles up as a USB syncing port. A tiny LED indicator lights up different color combinations in accordance with the status of the player. The device weighs 0.6 ounce and measures 1.6 x 1 x 0.4 inches. The device has 512 MB of internal memory and 1GB of USB flash memory. It has an audio frequency response of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. The device has an integrated USB battery that has a playtime of upto 12 hours and a standby time of upto 30 days.
This audio music player's front is equipped with a control pad. The control pad includes a dome-shaped Play/Pause button that has a 4 direction touch ring around it. The ring is slightly raised so that you can easily locate its position without looking at it. You can increase or decrease any song's volume by pressing the ring at the top or the bottom respectively. Similarly you can navigate through the stored tunes by pressing the ring at the left or right position. You can also set the digital music player to AutoFill mode. In this mode the Shuffle will automatically load the new music every time you plug it into your PC. As the Shuffle AutoFills, it will automatically convert the exported songs to 128 kbps AAC format.
The Shuffle can also be used as a flash drive. You need to assign a chunk of memory for this purpose. When you plug the Shuffle to your PC, it will show up as a removable drive to which you can drag and drop files. The digital music player supports MP3, WAV, AIFF, and AAC music file formats. Its integrated back clip helps to keep the device within your easy reach. It is equipped with a five-way control pad. The iPod comes packaged with ShuffleEarBuds, a Lenyard, Warranty Info brochure, a iTunes software CD and 2 Apple stickers.
