Smartphone manufacturer extraordinaire HTC has recently produced a number of notable handsets.  With the HTC Desire HD and Desire Z recently released, the original HTC Desire remains as popular as ever.

Boasting an impressive spec list which includes a 5 mega pixel camera, large touchscreen, Android 2.1 OS and expandable storage, and it ticks all the boxes and offers something for everyone.

The handset measures 119x 60 mm in order to accommodate the 3.7 inch screen, and is slimline at 11.9mm whilst very lightweight at 135 g which makes it a pleasure to hold and use on the move.  The HTC Desire is a stylish unit with rounded corners and a soft touch finish making it a comfortable phone to hold and use on a daily basis.  For functionality, and ease of use there are 4 physical shortcut buttons located beneath the screen along with an optical track pad.  The screen is certainly impressive and substantial at 3.7 inches and offers great quality display of on screen imagery with up to 16 million colours being displayed within 480x 800 pixels.  This makes it a superb Smartphone for everything from viewing photos and videos to surfing the Internet and gaming thanks to the vivid and saturated colours provided by the AMOLED screen.

Users are able to store numerous files within the handset thanks to a built in microSD card slot which comes with a pre-installed 4 GB memory card.  Should further storage be required, this can be replaced with a memory card of up to 32 GB, offering users the potential to store their entire digital music collection or any other files they may have within the HTC Desire.

Surfing the Internet is fast and reliable with the HTC Desire.  It relies on both 3G and Wi-Fi to provide it with the optimum Internet connection. When zooming in on a web page, the text is automatically repositioned and resizes itself to fill the screen.  This means users don't have to constantly scroll and reason to read an entire section of text.

An impressive 5 mega pixel digital camera is located on the back of the handset, and boasts features such as Autofocus and an LED flash.  These features allow users to improve the quality of the photos whilst simultaneously simplifying the task of taking them.  The camera allows users to shoot high definition video footage if it used to upgrade to Android 2.2, otherwise they can still film in WVGA quality.

The highly regarded combination of the Android OS and 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor provide an excellent platform for customisation and expansion, and users can download additional apps from the Android Market.

The features listed above are simply the tip of the iceberg, and if you are looking for a Smartphone which has it all, the HTC Desire is worthy of a closer look.
