The Jcb Tough Phone, the Toughest Phone on the Block

What do you get if you cross a phone with a JCB digger? You get the JCB TOUGH PHONE, that's what!

Ever since Nokia released phones like the 5210, there's been a definite niche in the market for super-tough, ultra-sturdy phones. The main customers have always been builders, working on hazardous building sites that normal phones a/ don't like, and b/ can't survive. But, of course, you also get consumers buying phones like that, consumers who lead active, tough lives, and need a phone that can keep up.

And that's where the JCB TOUGH PHONE comes in. Hewn from solid granite (ok, not hardened plastic, but you get the idea), it really is rock solid. And its rubberised shell protects it from other things as well. That means it's rated to IP53, and THAT rating means it's resistant to dust, shocks, water and impacts. In the world of building sites with brick dust all over the place, and the ever present danger of being dropped/hit/splashed with water, that kind of protection is important. And how did they test this? Well, we have it on good authority, they tested the JCB TOUGH PHONE by running over it in an Audi Q7. And guess what... the phone won...

But it's not all work, work, work. The JCB TOUGH PHONE, despite being built expressly for the purpose of being as hard as nails, DOES have some fun in its soul. The heritage of the name meant that the TOUGH PHONE was always going to be bright yellow. And it is. REALY bright yellow, but in good way, guaranteed to induce big grins. And of course, one of the ringtones is of a digger starting up. That's just fantastic. Pointless, but fantastic.

Now, you should know the JCB TOUGH PHONE isn't what you could, in any sense of the word, call a 'gadget'. It doesn't have a camera. It doesn't have Java. And no, it won't play music. But, how many phones can you think that are strong enough to smash througha wall with? This JCB phone could...
