If I said JCB to you, what would you think? You'd think of diggers, that's what. Well, now they've unleashed a mobile phone on the world, and like the diggers it's inspired by, you can sum it up in 3 words: big, tough, yellow. If you're a builder, or if you're a carpenter, or even if you're just someone who lives life HARD, you need a phone that isn't going to be worried by the knocks and scrapes your life will give it. What you need is the new JCB TOUGH PHONE.
But what makes it so tough? Well, the fact that it's seemingly hewn from solid granite must play an important part in that. Basically, with its rock solid body, and rubberised shell, the JCB TOUGH PHONE is quite probably, tough enough to withstand a mountain falling on it (the mountain probably fell over when you threw the JCB phone at it, it's THAT hard). Ok, it's maybe not strong enough to withstand a mountain on top of it (but I'd love to test that), but it's rated to IP53, which means it's resistant to dust, water, shocks and impacts, without even batting an eyelid.
That's not to say it doesn't have SOME fun touches... For example, the custom JCB animations, the ringtone of a digger starting up... ok, that's not THAT useful, but it is VERY good fun.
The thing to remember is this: the JCB TOUGH PHONE doesn't have a camera. Or java. Or video playback. Or a music player. It isn't flashy. It isn't swanky. It isn't MEANT to be gadget-y. It's a phone, purely and simply, it's designed to make and receive calls, and to send and receive texts. And it's designed to do that in harsh environments, with brick dust flying round, rocks being chucked all over. If you get this frankly amazing JCB phone, you won't have a multimedia powerhouse. But you will have a phone that you could smash through a wall with!
