The New HTC Wildfire Featuring Android OS
The new HTC Wildfire signals the brands attempt to break in to the mid range phone market, having successfully negotiated the top end sector with models such as the Desire and the Hero.
This new handset includes many of the features we have come to know and love, but inevitably some areas have been cut back, resulting in a good quality phone at a very attractive price point. In terms of usage, the very responsive optical trackpad is present, allowing precise navigation when the touchscreen may not offer the precision required. Despite not offering High Definition quality, the handset does capture video footage in a respectable 352 x 288 resolution at a frame rate of 15 per second. Still photographs are a little more impressive. The unit comes with a host of features including geo tagging, smile detection and a high quality LED flash. Images are captured at a resolution of 5 mega pixels. The Wildfire does lack slightly when it comes to internal storage space, but more than makes up for it with the micro SD card slot. These cards can be purchased in sizes up to 32GB and offer the user the opportunity to add memory custom made to their usage needs. Audio wise, an FM tuner is always a nice addition, and thanks to an array of format support, the phone is capable of acting as a very good portable music player. The HTC Wildfire should prove to be a successful unit over the forthcoming festive period.
