Tips for Battery Use in Cell Phones

Mobile phones get charged through batteries or through a phone charger. Now if you feel that using batteries is a better option for you because you don’t want the hassle of charging you mobile every time, you should keep in mind how much you are going to use the mobile before going in for buying the battery. Here is a look at the typical mobile phone batteries.

Nickel Cadmium Batteries – These batteries are rechargeable and the important thing to keep in mind is to recharge them once you have completely drained their power. Not doing so can give you the memory effect, wherein certain portion of the battery remains uncharged for a certain period because it has a previous charge. The battery simply forgets that the area needs to be recharged.

Nickel Metakl Hydride Batteries – These batteries are better than the Nickel Cadmium Batteries to the extent that they last longer, but then again you have to take are no to succumb to the memory effect.

Lithium Ion Batteries – This is the latest in mobile phone batteries and everyone is going in for them. They don have the memory effect and defiantly last longer than the prior version.

It is not just knowing which battery to use that’s important, you also need to know how to maintain the batteries so that they last longer. Never keep batteries exposed to extreme temperatures. Also ensure that they are fully discharged before recharging and keep them in working condition by discharging and recharging them as and when required. They should not be left out in the open where moisture can affect them and when the battery finally does wear out, dispose it according to the instruction for battery disposal. When charging the battery ensure to use the same manufacturer’s charger as this makes your battery to last longer.

The batteries must be kept clean using a cotton swab and alcohol. This keeps the connection between the battery and the potable device better. Ensure that you battery’s vibrator is not on when not required because it will consume more of battery power. When not using you mobile phone keep it turned it off to make you battery serve you longer. If you have power saving features in your mobile be sure to use them as this can rally help in making you battery serve you for longer.
