10 Ways By Which You Increase Your Capacity of Knowing and Experiencing God as Your Great Provider?

God has always been willing to give unto us; however He is limited by our capacity to receive what He has for us. Take for instance, coming to receive with a 5 litre gallon blessings that are in a 50 litres jerry can; what you can take will be smaller than what God intended to give you. We can increase our capacity to receive from God in the following ways:

1. Through the new birth experience. New birth causes you to be reconfigured in your mind in such a way that you see God as your Father and this disposes you to go to Him for your needs. [Jesus in the Lord’s Prayer]. A revelation of our heritage in Christ Jesus makes us expectant of what God has made available to his children.

Eph 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has       blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in           Christ

2 Peter 1:3

His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and          godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and   virtue

2. By walking in Obedience to his commandments.

The Bible says in Isaiah 1:19

If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.

Job 36:11

If they obey and serve Him,

They shall spend their days in prosperity,

And their years in pleasure.

3.  Pray like Jabez did. When you pray, God answers.

1 Chronicles 4:9

Now Jabez was more honourable than his brothers, and his mother      called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.”  And   Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that your hand will be with me,      and that you would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.

Luke 11:9-11

So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will       find; knock and it will be opened. For everyone who asks receives,          and he who seeks finds, and to him aho knocks it shall be opened.

4. Delight in the Lord and he will grant you the desires of your heart.

Seek the company of the Lord, desire intimacy with him. The     secret          of the Lord is with them that fear him.

Hebrews 11:6

But without faith, it is impossible to please Him because he who           comes to Him must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of        those who diligently seek Him.

The Lord will not withhold anything good from those who love him.

Those who spend time with the Lord in the quietness of the morning,   receive ideas and inspiration as well as solutions to knotty problems that have been dogging them.

5. Pay your tithes and offerings and expert God to open the Windows of Heaven to bless you to such an extent that there will be no room   to  keep the blessings.

Prov 3:9-10

Honour the Lord with your possessions,

And with the first fruits of all your increase;

So your barns will be filled with plenty,

And your vats will overflow with new wine.

6.  Look for opportunities to give. Consider giving as sowing of seeds which in due time will bear fruits. It is a spiritual principle that whatsoever a man sows, that will he receive.

Gen 8:22

While the earth remains,

Seedtime and harvest,

Cold and heat,

Winter and Summer,

And day and night

Shall not cease.

Galatians 6:7

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked;

For whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

In an increasingly selfish world, learning to give to the poor and needy will bring opportunities for blessings from God to you. Remember, he who gives to the poor lends to the Lord

7.  Have a Vision of what you want to happen. A vision is a picture of what you want God to do for you; have it before you, think about it and let it be deposited in your heart or Spirit man. Verbalize your beliefs and in due season, they will come to pass.

  1. Develop the right attitude of having God as your provider. A person with the right attitude will not fret when there is business reversal because he knows that God’s economy is unaffected during economic melt downs. He will not engage in sharp practices to boost his business. He knows his business prospects know no limits. He is always optimistic because God’s favor is his portion. He knows he will overcome in every tough situation so he remains undaunted because God is in, with and for him.

9.  Have a passion for excellence. People who are skilled and passionate about their work are always in demand in the work place. They shine like stars and get promoted before their peers because they have the attention of their boss.

Prov 22:29

Do you see a man who excels in his work?

He will stand before kings,

He will not stand before unknown men.

Daniel 6:3

Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps,

Because an excellent spirit was in him; and the King gave thought to          setting him over the whole realm.

10.            Put your gifts and Talents to use. Your gifts and talents when honed can open doors for you and make you stand out from the crowd.

Proverbs 18:16

A man’s gift makes room for him

And brings him before great men

Joseph, the son of Jacob had the gift of dreams, though initially, it got him in to trouble with his brethren, it was this same gift that got him out of trouble. David found himself in the court of Saul the King of Israel because of his skill on the harp.

God is ever willingly to provide for His children if only they know how to receive from Him.
