When Jesus died on the cross and suffered for all our sins, we were given a second chance. He cleansed the sins of all people past, present, and future. Jesus said in Revelation 3:20, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears my voice, and open the door, I will come to him, and will sup with him and he with me. " The only into the kingdom of God is through Jesus Christ. It is extremely difficult to attain the level of good behavior without his help. All he asks is to invite him into your heart and believe in him. Through asking Jesus to come as your savior, baptism, and a good effort to lead a Christian life your sins will be washed away. I Corinthians 6:11 says, "And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God."
Being saved by Jesus Christ is only the beginning. Once we start down this righteous path, we always need to acknowledge our shortcomings and confess them to God or a clergy according to each denomination. We must also be thankful for everything he has done for us. When we are making an honest effort, asking for forgiveness of sin, and being thankful I believe will make you a good person in God's eyes.
God Bless everyone.
