Fulfilling Your calling – Part 3
There are evangelists, pastors and workers who never wrote a book, sold a tape, drew a crowd or gained national fame, but they paid the price. Like Noah, whose membership never exceeded 8 in the Ark, they ministered faithfully.
These workers wanted to do more and they laid many things aside to serve others. There must be a sense of purpose, which can be achieved by writing down your goals and renewing them regularly. Jesus said, "Blessed are the meek (i.e. focused) for they shall inherit the earth." Matthew 5:5
A sense of excellence is an important ingredient in achieving your goals and you will need to work for it. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart. God is fair and He will not forget the work you did for others; He will not forget your labour of love. Always remember, without hard work, success is impossible.
Prophet Isaiah says, "You shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace." Isaiah 55:12a. God's peace is your compass in fulfilling your calling. When the enemy tries to take you down the wrong road, God's peace will keep you on the right one. Whatever God has called you to do, write it down and run with it. Do not get into situations where God is not honoured. Also do not get tangled up with things that are not His will for you. Go only where HE is glorified and stay only where your heart is at peace.
When God called you, He embarked you for a specific purpose. Like a dedicated line on a fax machine, you can be used for only one thing – HIS purpose. Once you understand that and accept it, you will never stray from His will. The spirit of excellence should be the utmost in fulfilling God's calling. It takes decades to grow an oak tree but only days to grow a squash.
You have to be willing to discipline yourself in order to get to where God wants you. It is a good experiment when you are young, but once you have discovered God's purpose for your life, pay the required price, give it all you have got and refuse to be sidetracked. You have to be Christ-like and stay connected to the Father, in order to fulfil God's calling to an expected end.
The Word of God says, "For God's gifts and His call are irrevocable." Romans 11:29. But at the same time, you have to walk in obedience to God in order to fulfil your calling. It is not wise to say, "God cannot change His mind about my calling" and then do your own thing. It is by the grace of God that you have been called. He expects you to carry out your own part so that you can be a co-worker with Him, in His Kingdom.
Child of God, I sincerely pray that you will fulfil your calling in line with the will of God for your life. Always remember that you cannot do anything in your own strength. Always walk side by side with God and do not go ahead of HIM. Let Him be your driver, guide and motivator. Always do everything to His glory and enjoy HIS peace always.

Historic Black College choirs across the country traditionally visit local community churches. For many churches it's reminiscent of a homecoming. Beloved, the plan of God for your life is to trust Him completely and not fret. When you fret, you become worried, anxious and you make a "down payment" for something that may not even happen. By doing this, you demonstrate that God is not able and this is an insult to the Almighty God, the Creator of the whole universe.
Beloved, if you believe that Jesus lives in you, you don't need to fret about anything. If you find yourself in a crisis of circumstances, you need to trust God for guidance. He is sovereign over changing circumstances and He will guide you all the way.
Beloved, I want you to know that it is a complete waste of time to pray to God, without great faith in our hands. "And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." Hebrews 11:6
Great faith requires complete trust in God and believing that He will do what His Word says. Also, with great faith, believe that you receive once you have prayed in the name of Jesus. Have a holy expectancy that you receive and believe that God's Word is working in every situation of your life.
Great faith, which is God-kind of faith, looks across the storm and it does not doubt. It does not question "why", but trusts in the Almighty God. Beloved, keep your eyes on Jesus and you will soon lose sight of your fears. Faith is the opposite of fear and as you exercise your faith in God, fear will have no leg to stand on.
