God call us to Repentance
We must be grateful to God; he wants the best for us. He does not desire for us to die, or suffer. What God wants for us is to be happy and live forever to receive forgiveness from the Lord. We have to meet a requirement.
Ezekiel 33:11 "Said to them: ‘As I live,' says the Lord God, ‘I have no pleasure in the dead of the wicked, but that the wicked turned from his way and live. Turn, turn from evil ways! For why should you die , O house of Israel?' The main point we see when we read this passage, is that God loves us so much, that although we are sinners, he does everything possible to have a personal relationship with us; the indispensible requirement is repentance!
The scriptures say: "Turn, turn from your evil ways!" It is here where the Lord calls for repentance. But, repent from what? First of all, we must realize that one way or another, we fall short in different areas of our lives. If you already accepted Jesus as your personal Savior; you already repented from all ways of life without God.
If you are a Christian, you must examine your everyday walk with Jesus. We can always improve spiritually; the good thing about being God's children is that we can grow continually. We can learn and do good things all the time. It is here were we can fall short, and it is here were we must go to God with a humble heart and repent.
Communion with God
Revelations 3:20 "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him and him with me."
Let's look at three main points in this verse.
- A. God says that He is always calling. Yes, He calls to our lives because He loves us. God uses different ways like Bible studies, so we should start thinking about His calling.
- B. God says that if someone "hears my voice and opens the door." This point is so important, not only to hear His voice but to hear and open the door of our hearts.
- C. God says that He will come into our lives and have communion with us. We can see the God's desire is to fellowship with us. We must desire fellowship with Him.
From all this, we can realize that having a humble heart is a must for our relationship with the Lord. The benefits of coming to God with repentance are many. Some benefits are; our spiritual growth, our physical health, peace, joy, a clear mind, relaxation, and many more physical and mental blessings.
Remember, taking inventory of our lives is necessary, that way we can see if we need to improve in some areas or repent from others. All for the Honor and Glory of Jesus. If this Bible study is of your benefit, visit http://thedivinecallofjesus.blogspot.com and learn more from the Holy Scriptures.
