In Bible Vs Quran, Jehovah and His Evil Angels

In the Bible, Psalm 78:49 (King James Version) says:

Jehovah, the Lord God cast upon the Egyptians:

1)      the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and

2)      indignation, and

3)      trouble,

By sending Evil Angels among them

As regards "By sending Evil Angels among them", the original Hebrew verse says:

מִ֝שְׁלַ֗חַת (army) רָעִֽים׃ (Evil or bad) מַלְאֲכֵ֥י (Angels)

These three words mean "Army of Evil Angels"

Before seeing how 20 different English versions of the Bible translate "Army of Evil Angels"; one should ask: are there Evil Angels?

If there are Evil Angels, then they would have disobeyed the Lord God because they are Evil.

However, the Bible writers insist that there are Evil Angels.

See the previous two articles:

  1. 1.       In Bible Vs Quran: we shall judge Angels?
  2. 2.       In Bible Vs Quran: Angels in the Hell?

In the Quran,

  1. The Angels prostrate to Allah
  2. The Angels are not proud; they do not show pride
  3. The Angels do all that they are commanded and they do what they are ordered.
  4. The Angels never ever disobey Allah in that which He orders.

Hence, there are no Evil Angels, the Only Choice the Angels have is to OBEY Allah.

Faith-wise, anyone says or believes that there are Evil Angels will dwell in the Eternal Hell in the Hereafter.

Now, let us see how 20 different English versions of the Bible translate the simple and clear words: "Army of Evil Angels"

Three versions say: by sending Evil Angels among them (in two) and a band of Angels of Evil (in one).  These three versions are the honest ones in their translations.

However, it seems likely that the majority of the eminent editors of English bible versions do not believe that there are Evil Angels.  For this reason, they translated "Army of Evil Angels" to:

  • A band (a company, an army) of destroying Angels in 11 versions
  • By sending Angels of destruction among them, a mission of Angels of woes and by sending [a mission of] Angels of calamity and woe among them in three versions
  • A discharge of Evil messengers and a band of deadly messengers in two versions

Nevertheless, the most unreal translation is that found in "The Message"; it says:  An advance guard of disease-carrying Angels to clear the ground, preparing the way before him

For centuries the Jewish people had heard from the scriptures, prophets, priests and rabbis that God would fulfill His promise and establish a New Covenant with His people through the Messiah. On this day in Acts 2 God fulfilled His promise and poured out His Spirit on His people.

Historic Black College choirs across the country traditionally visit local community churches. For many churches it's reminiscent of a homecoming. Alum, prospective students and the community at large celebrate the choir, enjoy and appreciate the sacred music, pay tribute to loved ones that have helped financially support and embraced the school's mission which instills pride in the hope and dream of surviving and making it in a harsh world. Their presence is a testament of God's goodness.

The Bible says that Jesus was coming out to the road, a man came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, "Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?" Jesus said to him: "Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone". Now, who believe in this verse, the Jews or the Christians or the Muslims?

The Bible says: "One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, "Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb." They interpret the bride as the New Jerusalem. In the Quran, Jerusalem, the bride of the Lamb, and the Lamb itself are not mentioned therein in the entire Quran.

Talking about the end of Satan, the Bible says that the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. In the Quran, Satan and his fellows will dwell, in the Hereafter, in the Eternal Fire; however, the Quran says that before he has dwelled in the Eternal Fire, Satan will have an interesting discourse.

In the Bible, God put this Law: "If a man sells his daughter as a slave, she is not to go free as the male slaves do." This law allows the father to sell his daughter as a slave. On the other hand, Allah did not put such an exciting Law. Now, which book dishonors the female gender, the Bible or the Quran?

In the Bible, Saint Matthew says: This fulfilled the prophecy of Jeremiah that says, "They took the thirty pieces of silver—the price at which he was valued by the sons of Israel". As a matter of fact, Jeremiah the prophet never ever said that in his book. On the other hand, neither Jeremiah the prophet nor Saint Matthew is mentioned therein in the entire Quran.
